Creating an Insertion Order Paige Freeman September 24, 2025 15:15 Updated To create a new insertion order: From Advertising Central or the Advertising menu in the left navigation, select Create Insertion Order. The Create Insertion Order page displays. Search for and select the customer for which you want to create an insertion order in the Advertiser field. The address, Bill-To, and Bill-To address will all populate and can be changed if necessary. Search for and select a Contract, if necessary.The contracts available for selection are those that have been created previously for the selected customer and are not expired. Most insertion orders will require a contract. It is important to select the correct contract as many pricing details and rate codes are imported from the selected contract. Select the Media that is connected to the contract. If you selected a contract, only media defined for the selected contract will be available for selection. For more information, please see Contract Included Media. Select the Advertising Product. Select the Agency. If a contract is selected, the agency defaults and cannot be modified. Select Continue to Surcharges to continue to the next step. The Surcharges page displays, as shown below. The available surcharges display. Surcharges are additional fees for color, premium-position, placement of advertisement, etc. They are created by selecting Color Surcharge, Premium Position, or Miscellaneous Surcharge during Advertising product setup. Surcharges are “non-master” products in ThreeSixty. ThreeSixty supports both flat-fee surcharge pricing and percentage-fee surcharge pricing. Select the surcharge(s) that apply to this insertion order. Certain surcharges are used only for the first insertion order. To accommodate this, there is a “One Time” and a "Recurring" option in the Select drop-down. This determines whether the surcharge will be duplicated for all lines or only appear under the first insertion. Select Continue.The publication issues display, as shown below. Select the publication issue(s) that apply to this order using the checkboxes, then choose Select.The Selected Publication Issues page displays. Select +Issues to add additional issues. Select Continue to Order Entry.The insertion order is created and opens in Order Entry. Once the insertion order is created, you can view insertion order details from Order Entry, including adding surcharges and maintaining full line item details.
