Inventory Parameters

To edit the inventory parameters for an organization unit:

  1. From the Order Subsystem Parameters section on the Organization Unit Settings page, click Inventory Parameters.
    The Edit Inventory Parameters  page will display, as shown below.
  2. In the Inventory Cost Control section, select YES or NO for the following options:
    1. Recalculate Cost on Adjustment - Select YES to automatically recalculate the cost of inventory on an adjustment.
    2. Allow Direct Update - Select YES to allow direct updates to inventory products.
  3. In the Inventory Product Fulfillment Control section, select YES or NO for the Commit Inventory toggle. Select YES to commit inventory on proforma orders.
  4. In the eBusiness Defaults section, perform the following:
    1. Select YES or NO for Display Out-of-Stock Items.
    2. Enter the Default Limited Threshold.
  5. Click Save.

Inventory Cost Control

Recalculate Cost on Adjustment

Toggle. When set to YES, inventory costs are recalculated automatically when inventory is adjusted. This recalculation updates the cost of goods.

Allow Direct Update

Toggle. When set to YES, indicates the inventory amount can be changed directly without creating a formal receipt of inventory.

Inventory Product Fulfillment Control

Commit Inventory

Toggle. When set to YES, the inventory is committed on a proforma order. When set to NO, the inventory will not be committed until the order has a packing slip. Personify does not recommend this option.

e-Business Defaults

Display Out-of-Stock Items

Toggle. Identifies the default behavior related to displaying out-of-stock products on the web. If this toggle is set to YES, when a new INV product is created, the Display Out-of-Stock on Web checkbox will be checked on the eBusiness Control screen in Product Maintenance, where it can be changed. 

Default Limited Threshold

Text box. Identifies the default available inventory level at which customers will start seeing a “Limited Quantity Available” message on the web. When a new INV product is created, the value defined here defaults into the Limited Qty Threshold field on the eBusiness Control screen in Product Maintenance, where it can be changed.
