Digital Pre-Orders Paige Freeman May 17, 2023 20:29 Updated When a Pre-Order Available date is set on the Digital Setup page for a Digital product, a Placeholder file will be automatically added to the Digital Files list, allowing you to validate your product before the file is available. This Placeholder file will not appear on the Maintain Digital Files page on Order Summary and will not appear to the customer. Deleting the Pre-Order Available date will also delete the Placeholder file from the Digital Files page. The Digital Pre-Order functionality is similar to the pre-order purchasing functionality implemented for the inventory module. You now have the ability to define and enable a Digital product for purchase prior to the definition of or the availability date of the digital content for that Digital product. Constituents have the ability to purchase digital content that is defined as not yet available. When creating a new Digital product, the Pre-Order Available field appears on the Digital Setup step. You can set the Pre-Order Available date after product creation on the Digital Setup page on the Digital Product Summary. ECD620 - Digital Content Delivery Fulfillment The ECD620 process fulfills orders for the Pre-Order Purchasing of Digital Content. The ECD620 process updates Digital product orders that were previously created for pre-order purchasing of then unavailable digital content. This process adds the now available digital content to the order line, as well as updates the Fulfill Status to Active and, therefore, invoices the order lines. For more information, please see ECD620 - Digital Content Delivery Fulfillment.
