Copy Security Groups

You must have ADD access to the Settings.SecurityGroups security application to copy Security Groups.

From the web client, you can quickly copy an existing security group.

To copy Security Groups:

  1. From the Settings section of the left navigation menu, select Security Settings. From the Security Settings page, select Copy Security Groups from the Copy Security section.
  2. You can also copy a security group from the contextual menu on the Security Groups page:

    from the Summary page Actions menu:
  3. The Copy Security Group page displays, as shown below.
  4. From the Original Security Group section, perform the following:
    1. Search for and select the Source Security Group.
      If you chose to copy a security group from the Summary page for the security group or from the Security Groups page, this field will be prepopulated with that security group.
    2. The Organization and Organization Unit default based on the Source Security Group selection.
  5. From the Copy Options section, select which permissions you wish to copy. By default, all toggles are set to Yes.

  6. From the Security Group section, perform the following:

    1. Enter the Group ID for the new security group.
    2. Enter the Group Name for the new security group.
    3. Enter the Description for the new security group.
    4. Select the Organization and Organization Unit for the new security group.
      You must be a Super User to copy a security group outside of your current logged in Organization and Organization Unit.
  7. From the Desktop Options section, select the appropriate toggles:

  8. Once you have completed your selections, select Copy Security Group to copy the security group.
    The new security group opens to the Summary page.
