Managing Opportunity Plan Stages and Tasks Paige Freeman April 09, 2025 15:03 Updated To access this page, users must have permissions to Opportunity.OpportunityPlan application security. Over time, an owner manages, or moves, a prospect through different stages and tasks, bringing that prospect closer to their organization, forming a relationship. Opportunity plan stages and tasks can be added and managed from the opportunity plan detail page. This page can be accessed from the Manage Opportunity Plans search page or after creating a new opportunity plan. Stages The Stages section of the opportunity plan detail page allows you to manage and add stages within your opportunity plan. You You can use the arrows within the grid to reorder your stages. Select the edit pencil to edit the stage. You can delete a stage from the contextual menu within the grid. To create a new stage: From the Stages section of the opportunity plan detail page, select +New Stage. The Add Stage page displays, as shown below. Select the Stage from the drop-down. Stages are steps or labels used to categorize prospects and donors as they move through your opportunity plan. Values are populated based on the FND MOVES_STAGE system type and code. Enter the Pipeline Percentage. This is the percentage chance a prospect will complete the opportunity plan. For example, if a prospect reaches the qualification stage of a fundraising opportunity plan, they could have a 40% chance of donating. Set the Active toggle as necessary. Select Save to save your stage and return to the opportunity plan detail page. Repeat these steps to create more stages as needed. Tasks The Tasks tab allows you to manage and add tasks within your opportunity plan. You can use the arrows within the grid to reorder your tasks. Select the edit pencil to edit the task and add additional details. You can delete a task from the contextual menu within the grid. To create a new task: Select the Tasks tab at the top of the opportunity plan detail page. The Tasks page displays, as shown below. Select +New Task.The Add Task page displays, as shown below. Enter the Task Name. A name that identifies the task. Examples include INTRODUCTION_CALL or INITIAL_VISIT. This must be unique and cannot be edited after save. Select the Task Type from the drop-down.This is the specific event or action associated with the task. Values are populated based on the FND TASK_TYPE system type and codes. Select the Task Stage from the drop-down.Values are populated based on the FND MOVES_STAGE system type and codes. Enter the Duration in Days.This is the amount of days the task usually lasts or how much time you wish to leave in between tasks. Enter the Task Description. Select Save to save your task and return to the Tasks page. Once you have added a task, select the edit pencil to add additional details on the Edit Task page. From the Go to Tasks section, you can define the task that should follow completion of this task if this task is successful or if this task is not successful using the If Successful and If Unsuccessful fields. Select the Find button to locate the appropriate task from the list of tasks added to the opportunity plan.
