Defining GL Segment Structure Paige Freeman May 04, 2023 19:10 Updated To define GL Segment Structure for an organization: From the Organizations page, select GL Segment Structure from the contextual to the right of the desired organization, as shown below. The GL Segment Structure screen displays as shown below. Select the edit pencil icon next to the Segment you want to edit. The Edit Segment Details page displays, as shown below. Select Save. Screen Element Description Segment Number The system-generated number assigned to the segment for the organization. Segment Type The category of the segment. For example, Company, Department, Project, or Natural Account. Values in the drop-down are populated based on the non-fixed codes defined for the FGL "GL_SEGMENT_TYPE" system type. Description The description of the segment Segment Length The length of the segment. Minimum value is 1 and maximum value is 999. The sum of the length of all the segments plus the separators cannot exceed the GL Account Length. Company Segment When YES is selected, this segment structure applies to the company of the organization.
