Viewing Batch Job Submission Status Paige Freeman April 10, 2025 19:05 Updated From the Submitted Jobs screen, you can view the status of a submitted job, as well as view the Job Details for that job. To view the Submitted Jobs screen: From the left navigation menu, select Reporting > Submitted Batch JobsThe Submitted Jobs screen displays. From the contextual menu in the grid, you can View Job Details. Also from the contextual menu on the Submitted Jobs screen, you can mark a selected job for deletion. For more information, please see Marking a Job for Deletion. Job Details The Job Details screen enables you to check the status and details of a submitted report. From this screen, you can view outputs online or print them on a local or network printer. To view the job details: From the Submitted Jobs screen, select View Job Details from the contextual menu in the grid.The Job Details screen displays, as shown below. Review the information in the Job Parameters, Job Status, and Output File sections. The Job Details screen contains several sections, including the following: Job ParametersLists the parameters for the report/process selected. This read–only table specifies the name of the parameter and the corresponding value given to it. The name of the job parameters used in the submission of the process. Each report uses different parameters. Job StatusLists the statuses of a job submission, the date and time of the submission, and any messages associated with the status code. The tab consists of the following: Status Code: A code representing the condition of the submitted job. For example, “NEW,” “STARTED,” “RUNNING,” or “COMPLETED”. Status Description: A description of the condition of the submitted job as it pertains to the code entered. Status Date: The date and time of the assessed condition of the submitted job. A job with a status code of “RUNNING” would be somewhere in the middle of the job. Log Message: This provides an explanation about the status and pertains only to statuses that warrant an explanation. Output FilesLists the file types used to process the end product. A job can produce a number of output files that you can view. For example, a Summary report, a Detail report, or a Skipped report. You can print the files in portrait or landscape style. This tab usually contains a DBG file. Before you submit a job, the DBG file records all the processes that are running on the server and displays how much memory the processes take. The tab consists of the following: File Type: The type of output file, such as a report. File Name: The name of the file consisting of the abbreviation for the subsystem and a code number. The output files include a summary report, a detail report, or a skipped report. Print Style: The printed format of the output. For example, portrait or landscape. Copies MadeFrom the contextual menu, you can select View to view the output file in the SAP viewer, or you can select Download as PDF to download the output file as a PDF. Super Users can also download and view .dbg files by selecting Download from the contextual menu. Actions menu Re-Submit Job runs the job again with the same parameters. Place on Hold allows you to submit a job, but not process the report yet. The Job Details displays “HOLD” as the status of the report. Release Hold allows you to release a job that has been placed on hold. Cancel Job allows you to cancel a job while it is running. View Job Log allows Super Users to view the .log file for the job. Copy Job allows you to copy job parameters from a submitted job. This will open the job submission page in a new tab with the same job parameters, which you can then update as necessary and run again. Marking a Job for Deletion From the Submitted Jobs screen, you can select a record in the grid and mark the selected job for deletion. Doing so will set the Job Status to "PURGE_REQUEST". If deletion is enabled in the TRSdaemon.xml file on the TRS server, the job will be deleted from the database. To mark a job for deletion: Navigate to the Submitted Jobs screen. Search for the appropriate job. From the results grid, select Mark for Deletion from the contextual menu in the grid. The Job Status column is updated to "PURGE_REQUEST".
