Managing Exam Codes Paige Freeman July 31, 2023 14:41 Updated Using the Exam Codes screen, you can define exams that will later be linked to Certification requirements. This screen is used to define exam codes and associate these with other products, typically meetings and sessions. You can also add sub-tests and answer sheets related to the exam. From the Exam Codes screen, you can: Add a new exam code Add CE Credits to an exam code Associate products with an exam code Add sub-tests to an exam code To access the Exam Codes screen: From the left navigation menu, select Meeting Settings from the Meetings menu, or select Education Settings from the Education menu.The Meeting Settings or Education Settings page displays. From the Education section, select Exam Codes.The Exam Codes screen displays. Create a new Exam Code To add a new exam code: From the Exam Codes screen, select New Exam Code.The Add Exam Code screen displays. Enter the Exam Code. Select the Exam Type from the drop-down. Select the Exam Status of the exam code. Enter the exam Description. If necessary, select the Expiration Date of the exam code from the date chooser. Click Save to save your new exam code and return to the Exam Codes screen. Screen Element Description Exam Code Text box. A unique code for the exam. Exam Type Drop-down. The type of exam. For example, Final Exam or Continuing Education Exam. Exam Status Drop-down. Identifies whether an exam is active or not. Only an active exam that is not expired can be linked to a product, transcript program, or certification program. Description Text box. The description of the exam. Expiration Date Drop-down. The expiration date for the exam. Registrants cannot take the exam after this date. Only an active exam that is not expired can be linked to a product, transcript program, or certification program. CE Credits To add CE Credits to an exam code: From the Exam Codes screen, select CE Credits from the contextual menu in the grid for the exam you would like to add CE Credits to.The CE Credits screen displays. To add a new CE Credit, select New CE Credit at the top right of the screen.The Add CE Credits screen displays. Select the CE Credit Type from the drop-down. Select or enter the number of Credits Allowed. Click Save to save your new CE Credit and return to the CE Credits screen. Screen Element Description Type Drop-down. The type of Continuing Education credit. If CE Type Codes are being defined by state, the code should be defined as a combination of State Code and CE Credit Type Code. For example, CACEU for a CEU in California. Credits Allowed Text box. The number of credits allowed for the CE type for the exam. Associate Products To associate products with an exam code: From the Exam Codes screen, select Associate Products from the contextual menu in the grid for the exam to which you would like to associate products.The Associated Products screen displays. To add a new associated product, select New Associated Product from the upper right corner of the screen.The Add Associated Products search screen displays. Enter your search criteria for the product you would like to associate, then select Find Product. Locate the correct product in the search results, then select Add. Once you have completed adding your products, select Add Products.The selected products are added to the grid on the Associated Products screen. Once you have associated products, you can choose to Disassociate Product or Refresh CE Credits from the contextual menu in the grid. Screen Element Description New Associated Product Button. When clicked, the Add Associated Products search screen displays. Select a product to associate to the exam. Disassociate Product Menu option. When selected, the corresponding product is disassociated with the exam. Refresh CE Credits Menu option. When selected, the system deletes all the records in the Product_Education_CE table for the selected product and recreates records from the TRN_Course_CE table. Sub-Tests To add sub-tests to an exam code: From the Exam Codes screen, select Sub-Tests from the contextual menu in the grid for the exam to which you would like to add a sub-test.The Sub-Tests screen displays. To add a new sub-test, select New Sub-Test in the upper right corner of the screen.The Add Sub-Test screen displays. Enter the Test name. Enter the test Description. Click Save to save your sub-test and return to the Sub-Tests screen for the exam. Screen Element Description Test Text box. The name of the sub-test for the exam. Description Text box.
